Are NCAA Football Rules Getting in the Way of Great Football?
With the recent allegations against The University of West Virginia’s football program of over-supervising voluntary spring and summer workouts, I’m starting to think that maybe the NCAA is a little too focused on the little things and not focused enough on the big picture.
It took 5 years for NCAA investigators to prove that Reggie Bush’s parents received a house in San Diego from an agent while he was in college, but only took two years or less to uncover irregular supervision over the WVU spring and summer practices. Why should we care that Graduate Assistants are attending spring workouts for big name college football teams? What’s so wrong about non-coaching assistants helping players analyze film during the off-season.
We preach to these players to stay in college and learn how to prepare for their future careers, but when they look for mentoring in what most likely will be their future career, we punish them? I’d much rather hear that college football teams are sitting in a room studying film with assistants than out in the bars fighting with each other, and driving around some hick town with guns in their cars, and getting hood rats knocked up that will eventually ruin their lives.
Maybe the NCAA should stay focused on the players being bought at Miami beach parties, and stop wasting our time with crap like this.

Kentucky Fried Chickenhead, Pitino Extortion Case Headed to Trial
Gold diggers are a dime a dozen in the world of sports, but are usually just seen as a hazardous part of the work environment. It can range from girls just trying to get free drinks and maybe a fancy dinner out of a player or coach they meet out at a club, to some b*tch poking holes in the condoms on a one night stand to trap said player or coach for the big score. The problem is, there’s no telling which type of gold digger you’re dealing with.
Rick Pitino found one extreme at an Italian restaurant called Porcini in Louisville back in August of 2003. A married coach Pitino met Karen Cunagin Sypher at the restaurant late one night, and proceeded to use the joint as his own personal Red Roof Inn. Two weeks later Sypher told Pitino she was pregnant with his child, and that he was the father. She agreed to have an abortion, then Pitino gave her $3,000 which he claims was to pay for her insurance as to not upset his Roman Catholic friends.
Let’s abbreviate the rest of this age old story….. Skank marries Pitino’s assistant coach, has another kid, the Pitino affair comes to light, skank tries to extort money from Pitino by paying a friend with sexual favors to deliver the extortion notes, skank gets charged with extortion, claims Pitino raped her, backtracks, and now skank is on trial for extortion.
In 2001 this same skank sued her former employer for sexual harassment who admitted they had consensual sex. Fortunately for that guy he’s dead now, so he doesn’t have to deal with her anymore.
Rick Pitino is a dirt bag for cheating on his wife with this pro hoe, but women like Karen Cunagin Sypher should be drawn and quartered for stuff like this. Not only should she be bagged for extortion, but also for filing a false police report when she claimed rape (her penalty should be equal to the charge she made), and she should be charged with felony being a stupid b*tch. People like this are a drain on our legal system, and moral well-being of this country.
Some Guys Just Can’t Handle Vegas, WVU’s Bob Huggins Hospitalized in Sin City
ESPN.com is reporting that WVU Men’s Basketball coach, Bob Huggins, was hospitalized in Las Vegas this weekend, after falling and breaking 4 ribs in a Vegas hotel.
Now, I’m not implying that Coach Huggins was drunk, but when was the last time you just fell down and broke your ribs? I mean, maybe you twist your ankle, and trip once in awhile sober, but come on Bob. Let’s get the real story.
Had a few drinks at dinner with the recruit. Maybe hit Spearmint Rhino for a nightcap. The scotch caught up to you a little, and maybe you were more focused on the hooker flyer pictures some scumbag handed you as you were walking into your hotel. Caught the first couple stairs leading into the Venetian and couldn’t break your fall because in one hand you have a drink, and the other you’re trying to check your Facebook messages on your iPhone. We get it Bob. Vegas is rough.
Get well soon Bob.
Texas Turns Down Pac 10 Invite
It is now being reported that Texas has Turned down the Pac 10’s invitation and it appears the remaining Big 12 members will remain together. A TV deal is in the works that would pay the Longhorns $25 million annually . Texas is the big fish here, not because of it’s school, or it’s winning tradition, but because it is one of the biggest draws in the nation. Where things go is completely up to them, but this is an attractive deal because, unlike joining the Pac 10, this allows them to fulfill their goal of creating a Longhorn network, which would allow them to pile money on top of the 25$ mill already on the table.
This would also mean that the Big 10 will have 12 schools and the Big 12 will have 10 school, which makes complete sense.
Official NCAA USC Investigation Press Release

This is for all you delusional USC fans that don’t want to believe what you’re hearing.
3 sports, tons of violations, and not enough penalties in my opinion.
Breaking News: NCAA to Impose Sanctions on USC Athletics
Early reports are being released by ESPN.com that the NCAA investigations into USC’s improper benefits case with Reggie Bush among other cases like Tim Floyd’s purchase of O.J. Mayo, will lead to sanctions including 2 years of postseason bans, loss of scholarships, and forfeiture of the football team’s 2004 wins including their National Championship over Oklahoma.
If Bush is found in violation of NCAA rules, he could also lose his Heisman Trophy which is ironically probably sitting in the house his parents were given in San Diego while he was in college which started this whole thing.
I guess this 2 year ban brings an alternate meaning to USC’s famed victory sign….
