Matt Leinart Blames Off-Field Reasons for His Demotion, 5 Things We Think Could Be to Blame

Kent Somers, writer for The Arizona Republic, tweeted on Monday that Matt Leinart feels like he outplayed the competition during the preseason, and attributes his demotion, or as I like to call it reassignment to clipboard holder, to off the field reasons.

Well let’s give Matt the benefit of the doubt and try to come up with a list of what those off the field reasons could be.

1. He found out Paris Hilton has herpes and has been stressing out over it when he should be studying 3-4 defenses.

2. The Reggie Bush scandal at USC has had Matt losing sleep.

Michigan Names Whole Team as Starting QB, Bo Schembechler Spins in Grave

The last decade was very unkind to the University of Michigan’s football program, and this one doesn’t appear to be starting in any better of a position.

Coach Rich Rodriguez has listed three quarterbacks as the starters for this Saturday’s opener with UCONN at the Big House. Tate Forcier, Devin Gardner, and Denard Robinson are all competing for the starting job, and have all won somehow.

Great leadership Rich. Picking a QB is like picking your girlfriend, you have to choose just one and be faithful. Even if you find out she can’t cook or clean a few weeks into the relationship.

Then again, Rich has been known to go out and put younger talent on the roster in his personal life too. Allegedly.

I can’t believe 5 star recruits are not breaking down the door to play for these cool cats.  No wonder Texas wanted out of the Big12, that must be one intimidating away game.  At most schools your hear clever chants such as, “We’ve got spirit we’ve got guts we’ve guts we’ve got so-and -by their nuts SQUEEZE SQUEEZE…SQUEEZE SQUEEZE SQUEEZE.”  At KU they spend a half hour learning to clap in unison.

For the Record:

Putting this much focus on this kid’s hands makes me uncomfortable because of what we can all tell he uses at least one of them for 5 times a day.

Oregon State Linemen Arrested For Charging at Police…While Naked

Oregon State offensive linemen Tyler Thomas was arrested for “second-degree criminal mischief, first-degree criminal trespass and resisting arrest,” According to the Corvallis Gazette-Times.  The times reported that a 32 year old women called the police at 4:51am to report a naked man in the upstairs office of her home.  After police arrived, a naked and drunk Thomas allegedly refused to get on the ground, but instead got into a three point stance and lunged at the officers, who tased him.

For The Record:

He may have gotten kicked off the team, but this is up there for best arrest, by an athlete, of all time.  In FTR’s book you Tyler Thomas are the SH*T….and the urine.

Female Arkansas Radio Personality Fired for Being an Idiot

Renee Gork, radio personality for KAKS in Arkansas, better known as Hog Sports Radio, was fired recently after wearing a Florida Gators hat to a Razorbacks press conference with Head Coach Boby Petrino on Saturday. Coach Petrino concluded answering a question from Gork with “And that will be the last question I answer with that hat on,”. Gork later sent an apology letter to Coach Petrino for the incident.

There are so many things wrong with this story, I think I need to break them down individually.

1. Who hired a woman to report on college football?

2. Gork stated that she only grabbed the hat, because it was raining out, but didn’t even think of the implications of wearing a conference rival’s hat, despite the fact that she graduated from Florida.

3. Who hired a woman to report on college football?

4. Why did Coach Petrino even answer this stupid broad’s question? He should have thrown her out once he saw her.

5. Who hired a woman to report on college football?

6. Why did Renee Gork apologize after getting fired? A true Gator fan would have said, “I wore my Gators hat because I’m a winner, and not some redneck piece of trash!”. Sure she wouldn’t be welcome back at Hog Sports Radio, but she would have a job in South Florida by the end of the week, and wouldn’t have to live in sh*tty Arkansas anymore. What a moron.
