Mets’ Francisco Rodriguez Injured in Family Brawl, Schedules Season Ending Surgery
The Mets are used to their players getting hurt on the field by now, but are relatively new to their players getting injured in the clubhouse.
Mets closer, Francisco Rodriguez, was arrested at Citi Field last week following a brawl he had with 59 year old Carlos Pena, who is being reported as the grandfather of Rodriguez’s children. Rodriguez was apparently rumored to be upset with Pena’s treatment of Frankie’s grandmother, who raised him as her own. Pena is allegedly living in one of Rodriguez’s houses and using his car, which tends to lead to problems for pro athletes supporting their families.
The Mets are investigating whether Rodriguez’s injury was in fact a result of the brawl or if it was a baseball injury, which is doubtful considering Rodriguez’s injury is to his punching throwing hand. Pena was reportedly thrown and punched by Rodriguez during the scuffle. If the Mets can prove that his injury was related to an off-field incident, they can avoid paying Rodriguez the remaining salary he is owed for this season, which would amount to around $5 million or so.
JERK OF THE WEEK
As if playing for the NY Mets was not hard enough on RP Francisco Rodriguez (K-ROD), he had to deal with his common law wife’s father telling him to man up and play better. Father, Carlos Pena interrupted an argument between the couple, and then took shots at the pitcher’s game. after messing with a bull Pena got the horns. K-ROD gave the father a much deserved beat down. The fiery closer was then charged with assault and forced to spend the night in a holding cell.
Is this dad serious? Like the bottom of the ninth is the Mets big problem? This guy is probably living in K-ROD’s guest house, drinking pina coladas on a raft in K-ROD’s pool. Who is he to criticize a decorated pitcher? If it wasn’t for Francisco he would probably be on a raft in the middle of the ocean, drinking and eating nothing, just hoping that he will make it to Miami, where he could sell fruit and flowers on the side of the highway.
You Carlos Pena (Daddy in Law) are the JERK OF THE WEEK
Lady Guy Guy Crashes Yankee Club House
Lady Guy Guy attended the subway series between the Yanks and Mets, attending games at both stadiums. At Yankee stadium she decided to sport an open jersey with a bikini under it, then got plastered and stumbled around the clubhouse, where she slurred and spit on the players she met, and I am sure unsuccessfully threw herself at them.
There is no way this person likes baseball, so my prognosis is that her inner high-school loser came out. I am sure she spent her adolescent years alone, cutting herself in her room, dreaming of being popular and hooking up with the football team. Now that she’s a somebody I am sure she was trying to make up for it, to no avail.
It just proves that having money and fame won’t make you happy….
Unless you are also good looking.
Reason #3412 The Mets Can’t Win
I admit Jersey Shore is a guilty pleasure, but it sucks when “the Situation” is more recognizable than your 3rd baseman.
Mets Players Injured While Watching the Super Bowl
I jest, but I also wouldn’t be surprised if someone on the Mets team gets seriously injured before they even start playing baseball again.

Mets Sign Injury Prone Gary Matthews Jr. to Add Depth to IR
The New York Mets have spent a lot of time working on their roster during this year’s offseason, and came to the decision that their IR was lacking depth at the outfield position making acquiring another injury prone player a priority this week.
They couldn’t wait to scoop up Matthews from the Angels who were even willing to pay the Mets $22 million to take him off their hands, trading Brian Stokes for the centerfielder today.
Matthews is looking forward to joining a team full of broken players much like himself, and not having the pressure of winning playoff games on his back anymore.
