Sources: Rangers’ Josh Hamilton relapses at Dallas-Fort Worth Bar

The Texas Rangers have made plenty of news this offseason with their signing of Japanese pitching sensation Hu Darvish and their rumored involvement in the Prince Fielder sweepstakes. They’re once again in the news, but this time the subject is much darker. It’s being reported by the SportsDayDFW blog at the Dallas Morning News that troubled outfielder Josh Hamilton has once again relapsed at a bar.

His struggle with alcohol has been widely documented, and it nearly caused a premature ending to what has been an illustrious career. He also relapsed in January of 2009 at a Tucson area bar, when pictures of him partying with young women at a bar (seen here) were published across the internet.

This time, the details are thus far unclear. All that’s known so far is that according to people close to the situation, Hamilton spent Monday night drinking at a bar. According to the Texas Rangers, they are “aware of a situation, but [we] don’t have further comment at this time.”

For the Record: It’s shame that Hamilton’s stellar career continues to be marred by relapses and setbacks. It looks like once again he is back on the wagon. Or is he off the wagon?
