No one has come right out and said it, but Peyton Manning has thrown his last football in a Colts jersey. Jim Irsay has just about finished slashing and burning any and all remnants of the team that Manning successfully headed during his audible laden tenure in the Horseshoe. Systematically working his way down the ladder, Irsay has canned team president Bill Polian and GM Chris Polian, on down to coach Jim Caldwell, and as it’s shaping up, will move onto Peyton Manning and his bum neck by the NFL Draft.
When deciding on a new head coach, the franchise’s most valuable player ever was not even so much as consulted, leading many to believe that Peyton is no longer the principal franchise piece that he was 9 months ago. The Colts made it blatantly obvious with their 2-12 season that they don’t have the pieces to make one last run with Manning, whether he’s healthy or not. So tear down and rebuild it is. That process could end when Peyton is released, making way for Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck.
Speculation you say? Maybe. But why did the Arizona Cardinals jet just land at John Wayne Airport in Orange County, CA tonight? Coincidentally, Peyton Manning’s agent, CAA’s head of football, Tom Condon, is based out of the agency’s Beverly Hills office where he represents the likes of Peyton and Eli Manning, LaDanian Tomlinson, and many other NFL stars. Could the wheels already be in motion for Manning to find a new team by the Super Bowl? Everyone knows the Colts tanked the season to get Luck, the only logical thing now would be to bail on Manning and his ailing neck.
Condon addressed the possibility of Peyton leaving Indy in USA Today on Thursday saying:
“Peyton is under contract, if that changes, we’ll consider the options.”
Sources around the league have made it known that Peyton will be released from the Colts, and it certainly appears as though the Cardinals are seriously considering acquiring him, whether it’s this weekend, or on down the line. Don’t be shocked when you hear ESPN mentioning Condon, Manning, and the future by Monday.

Some of the worst journalism ever:
1. Ignoring the OCEAN of everything that speaks against this "breaking news item" – Tom Condon is the agent for a whole host of NFL players, several of whom are Arizona Cardinals.
2. Is that picture of an US Airways plane supposed to be the evidence of a Bidwill? Because that's just insane
3. Um. Peyton is still a member of the Colts, this would be tampering.
4. Why would anyone fly to Orange County, almost an hour south of Los Angeles/Beverly Hills and not one of the 2 airports (not to mention the private airport in Santa Monica) that actually serve the area
5. I can't believe I lent credibility to this with actual arguments against this.
