Peyton Not The Best Ever.

Let’s start this by saying that this is way too nerdy of an argument, but fine if we are going to take the man’s legacy over the one interception that he threw, then let’s do it.

First Manning had to deal with a team playing to win like we have never seen before, and the Colts did not want it as bad.   It didn’t matter that the Colts didn’t play badly, this game looked like a dog fight between Maverick and Ice-Man.   The Saints took all the risks, and let the Colts try to fly ice cold with no mistakes, which they could not.  Drew Brees put on the breaks and let the Colts fly by right into his sites, and Peyton spent the game to close for missiles, and switched to guns.

All that being said, the interception was more Reggie Wayne’s fault than his QB’s.  Reggie chopped his feet, gave away the route that he ran badly, and let himself get jumped.  If that doesn’t happen, and Manning wins the game, we are talking about him instead of New Orleans.   If he wins, he is the story and his 9-9 record in the post season disappears.

I am not saying he is the best ever, I am just saying that if he’s not, it’s because he is not like Michael Jordon or Tiger Woods. He is great, he is a winner, but he can be beat.
