Jose Offerman Banned from Winter Dominican Baseball

Former MLB All-Star, Jose Offerman, may have anger issues.

As a player in an Independent League here in the States, Offerman charged the mound after getting hit by a pitch. Charging the mound is pretty standard in baseball, but charging the mound with the bat in hand is new. Then using the bat to hit the pitcher and catcher, well that’s just unheard of. Offerman did it.

[August 14th, 2007]

Saturday, in the Domincan Republic, Offerman was managing the Licey Tigers of the Winter League, and took a swing at an ump during an argument. Now, I don’t think he really connected, but swinging at umps will not gain you favorable reactions from league officials.

[Saturday]

Offerman is now banned from that league as well.

What are the odds that the UFC is blowing this guy’s phone up right now?

I heard he was suspended for life. He needs to attend anger management class.
