New York Mets Sign Injured Pitcher

We joked a lot about the Mets’ proclivity for injuries last season, but now the Mets are signing players that are already hurt.

Former LA Angels pitcher, Kelvim Escobar has signed a one-year $1.25 million dollar deal to probably sit in the Mets bullpen with a bunch of other rag armed injured players. Escobar has spent the majority of the past two seasons on the Angels IR with a bum shoulder. Unsurprisingly, the Mets team medical director, Dr. David Altchek is the surgeon who repaired Escobar’s shoulder in the summer of 2008. Since that miraculous medical feat, Escobar has made one start.

Strange, I would think the medical director of the Mets would be a better surgeon considering he gets so much practice.
