FTRsports Week 12 Power Rankings

Week 11 proved to be a little more exciting than it appeared on paper. The Chargers went into Denver and stole the AFC West lead, like I said they would, then came home and hit people with champagne bottles to celebrate. The Kansas City Chiefs stunned the defending champion Pittsburgh Steelers by bringing their new “Windshield Defense” to knock Big Ben out of the game. The Cleveland Browns and Detroit Lions both scored multiple offensive touchdowns for the first time all season, leading many to believe Hell has frozen over. Let’s take a look at how the rankings may have been affected.

1. New Orleans Saints- Drew Brees and the Saints visited Tampa Bay, FL on vacation this weekend, and scored 38 points on the Bucs without breaking a sweat. Playing the Bucs is like playing Stephen Hawking in ping pong.

2. Indianapolis Colts- Each week the Colts get closer and closer to losing. Fortunately for them, the Houston Texans, and Denver Broncos are coming up, and maybe Peyton Manning can get back on track. I’m thinking he throws for 300 yds against the Texans and 3 TDs. He might have to if the Colts D keeps letting other teams move the ball.

3. New England Patriots- Revenge was in the air for Patriots fans, and the 4th down call was extra motivation for Belichick and the Pats to pound away at the Jets on Sunday. The Pats move the ball at will, and as long as Belichick doesn’t get screwed on 4th downs anymore, the Pats should run the table including ending the Saints unbeaten streak next week.

4. Minnesota Vikings- Brett Favre continues to win, and the Vikings are in a great position to contend with the Saints for the NFC crown. The Vikings will route the Bears next week and Sidney Rice will continue to shine as a Fairy Tale football star.

5. Cincinnati Bengals- Despite fumbling away the last game to the Raiders, the Bengals have proven they are among the elite in the AFC with big wins over all of their toughest competition this season. With games against the Lions and Browns the next week, the Bengals will be 9-3 going into their showdown with the Vikings.

6. San Diego Chargers- Breaking bottles of Moet over people’s heads in SD is how the Chargers celebrate beating down the Broncos in Denver. They may not be the classiest team in the NFL, but they’ve won 5 straight and will probably prevent the Broncos from even making the playoffs, proving Kyle Orton is worthless.

7. Arizona Cardinals- This is the last week the Cardinals will be in the top ten as Tennessee and the Vikings are about to put old man Warner and Beer Bong Leinhart into a hole the next two weeks.

8. Tennessee Titans- Vince Young has Jeff Fisher by the sack, and isn’t letting go anytime soon. The Titans are looking for their 5th straight win this week, and they’ll get it with tons of ground game from Johnson and Young. They still may miss the playoffs, but at least they’re relevant again.

9. UCONN Huskies- Former Notre Dame benchwarmer Zach Frazer now plays QB for the Uconn Huskies, because Charlie Weis told him Jimmy Clausen was better than him. The Huskies and Frazer came to South Bend and proved why Charlie Weis should be fired. The Huskies handed the Irish their 5th loss of the season, and set Jimmy Clausen up for a black eye from his own fans.

No other NFL teams will be ranked this week, as most of them are embarrassing to watch let alone write about. The Cowboys should be ashamed of putting up only 7 points against the Redskins.

The Titans haven't beat anyone good. Kudos to Vince Young, but he's only beating scrubs. The Eagles, Giants, Cowboys, and Greenbay have all looked terrible, but they are better than Tenn who will lose their next two games.

this is a bias post by Cornelius Wellington IIIIIII you can obviously tell that he is a pats fan there is no way that you could possibly rank the pats ahead of the chargers and the Vikings when they will most likely win a wild card … barf!!!

the Patriots have a 2 game lead in their division including a win over the Dolphins who are 5-5. How exactly would that quantify a wild card? Do you know anything about football Pure Poundage?
