FTRsports Week 11 Power Rankings

The Colts beat Bill Belichick with one questionable call which ruined our 3 weeks of NFL prediction perfection. Many maintain that Kevin Faulk actually did get the first down, but all of that is mute as the Colts are still undefeated and the AFC now has to go through Indy to get to the Super Bowl. The rest of this week’s games pretty much played out exactly how it should have so let’s see how it affected the rankings.

1. New Orleans Saints- The best offense in football has sputtered a little the past couple weeks, but a win is a win, and the Saints stay on top of the NFL with a perfect 9-0 record.

2. Indianapolis Colts- Despite playing from behind the whole game Sunday night against the Pats, Peyton Manning showed why he’s one of the best ever by grabbing the lead when it means the most. At the end. Colts are 9-0 and my NFL predictions now have a blemish.

3. New England Patriots- Hopefully Bill Belichick’s wife cleaned the house real well on Monday and took care of Bill’s “needs” because this guy is going to run 2 yard drills so much this week, that Brady might get carpal tunnel syndrome from throwing dump passes. Patriots showed they’re definite contenders, but now they know they’ll probably be making another trip to Indy.

4. Cincinnatti Bengals- Yes the Vikings got jumped in this spot in the rankings even though they have a better record than the Bengals, but the Bengals are playing the best football in franchise history and look to be a threat come playoff time. Hopefully Cedric Benson gets healthy quick, or someone learns how to make Larry Johnson shut his mouth. With games against the Raiders, Browns, and Lions in the next 3 weeks, don’t plan on seeing the Bengals suffer from the loss of Benson anytime soon.

5. Minnesota Vikings- Brett Favre is loving life in Minnesota as the Vikings are cruising into playoff mode soon. The Vikings are 8-1, but they also play in the same division as Green Bay, Chicago, and Detroit. Not exactly impressive.

6. San Diego Chargers- By winning 4 straight football games, and having Denver lose 4 straight, the Chargers have pulled themselves out of the basement to the top of the worst division in football. The Chargerstravel to Denver next week to seperate the boys from the babies, and look for the Chargers to come home with the outright lead in the AFC West. The Broncos have been exposed and may end up missing the playoffs.

7. Arizona Cardinals- Everyone seems to forget that this team went to the Super Bowl last year, and they’re quietly making headway out west winning games against inferior teams week after week. In two weeks they are visiting the rejuvenated Tennessee Titans with Vince Young on a 3-0 tear since becoming the starter. This game will be high scoring, and the Titans will win, but the Cardinals will only lose one more game after playing the Vikings the following week as they look ahead to the playoffs. Matt Leinhart only wishes he did more than wash jocks for a living.

8. Pittsburgh Steelers- Well I told you the Bengals would beat the Steelers, but at least the Steelers kept it close. The 8 spot in power rankings is rough on a defending champion, but the Steelers are about to lose the division to the Bengals, may not even make the playoffs, and their impressive win over Denver is no longer impressive now that the Broncos can’t even beat the Red Skins.  Sorry Santonio, but the only reason you won the Super Bowl last year is because Tom Brady was in a cast.

9. Tennessee Titans- Sure the Titans record is garbage, and their owner is old and senile, but old people giving the bird to a stadium full of people is hilarious, and Vince Young is playing like the stud we hoped he would be.  With Chris Johnson in the backfield, this team is legitimate, expect more wins. The playoffs may be well out of reach, but watch for the Titans to spoil a couple other team’s seasons.

10. Stanford Cardinals- The world of legitimate college football fans thanks you Stanford. The beat down you placed on USC in the Coliseum has earned you a place on our NFL Power Rankings, because let’s be honest, you would crush the Browns, Lions, Bucs, and Rams. Home or away.
