WNBA Finals Gains Infomercial Like Ratings

Most of you, we hope, have no clue what’s going on with the WNBA right now, but they are actually playing the Finals already. On Tuesday, the highest scoring Finals game in WNBA history drew 550,000 viewers. That’s the most viewers for a single gamce since 2007, and doubles the viewership from the regular season according to ESPN.com.

Does that mean 225,000 people watched WNBA games all season? Or each game? Who cares. I went searching for shows with comparative numbers, but Nielsen ratings don’t show the bottom of the barrel. To give you an idea of what real sports ratings look like, the Sunday Night Football game between the Steelers and the Chargers drew 18 million viewers. Mind you, that’s a regular season game. Proving once again, nobody cares about the WNBA.

For The Record: In searching the Nielsen Ratings lists, I have found that black people prefer sports, cartoons, and crime shows, and Mexicans only like 2 shows, both of which I’ve never heard of. Interesting stuff.
