On The Other Side Of The Spectrum

The New York Yankees finished sweeping up and throwing out the Minnesota Twins, and now have a clear path to the world series thanks to Boston’s complete undoing, which leaves only the pesky Angels in their way.  This is just the Yankees year.  They signed the two premiere free agent pitchers in an   that closed with them also stealing the premiere offensive threat from their Boston rival.   Moves The Sox could only counter with Brad Penny and John Smoltz, who they eventually would just cut outright. They followed the tremendous off-season by winning the AL East, and even got to see the Red Sox run away from what would have been a raping in the ALCS.  I don’t think the Sox could have done anything else to serve NY a World Series ring on a silver platter.

The G-Men are 5-0 after demoralizing the Raiders, and have more than replaced the hole left behind by  WR Plaxico Buress.

The NY Jets have made promising steps forward under new coach Rex Ryan, and rookie QB Mark Sanchez.  Their D looks ferocious and their offense should get a boost from Braylon Edwards, who they got for peanuts from the Browns.

And the Knicks are practicing with Lisa Leslie and have begun running experiments to see if radioactive spider bites can boost their performance.

It is kind of the opposite of what is happening in Boston.

[By the way these are the only sports that matter.]
